Scenic Rivers’ Healthy Forests Program engages community volunteers to help protect long-term vitality of largest conservation easement. Workday will focus on aggressive vines, shrubs and grasses threatening vegetation at all levels of forest. Volunteers work on designated trail sections; volunteers will be trained in how to identify and remove plants. Work gloves and tools can be provided, though volunteers are welcome to bring own gear. Volunteers must be 16 or older to attend without supervising adult (ages 10-15 may attend with accompanying adult), and be able to hike up to 1 mile to get to designated work areas. Wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed toed shoes, bring full water bottle.
