Julia Lederer, 21, follows the “live the dream” philosophy of her brother, the late Zachary Lederer, in everything she does.
“He always said to live every day to the fullest. I like to keep that in mind whether I do little things or big things. As I pursue my dreams, I know he would be standing next to me telling me to do whatever it takes,” said the Mount St. Mary’s University senior.
With her outfit for the “Living the Dream” gala, which benefited the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation, Lederer kept another aspect of her brother in mind as well.
“He definitely would want me to wear something more conservative. He wouldn’t want me in anything too short or too low-cut, like any older brother,” she said.
HER ENSEMBLE: Free People tiered black lace mini dress from Lord & Taylor. Black shoulder bag/clutch with white bow trim from Kate Spade. Audrey Brooke black suede platform sandals with block heels from DSW.
HER FAVORITE ACCESSORY: “I love rings. I really like stackable rings where you can wear a bunch on one finger.”
HER BROTHER’S LEGACY: “I think I learned that I’m [already] living the dream. No matter what’s going on — no matter how tough times are — I’m constantly living the dream, even though that sometimes seems a little crazy.”
