Erika Orlaskey's love of classics fits in with the season. Just take her favorite movie, “It's a Wonderful Life.”

“Year-round, it's my favorite movie. It's not just a Christmas movie for me,” said the 37-year-old Canton resident.

The same goes for her style, as evidenced by the outfit she sported at the party benefiting Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital.

“I'm huge into the classic look. I love Audrey Hepburn. But I like to add a little sass to it,” she said. In fact, she's known for her love of dressing up at her job as director of performance and organizational development at Blue Ocean Realty.

Orlaskey attributes her affinity for late '50s-early '60s style to family members.

“I grew up very close to my grandparents, who were very classic people. They are huge fans of old movies and very well versed in everything for that era. Meanwhile, my mom was a hippie flower child, a typical child of the '60s and '70s; I very much rejected that style,” she said. “I carried a purse from the time I was 2 years old.”

HER SHOPPING ADVICE: “People are always shocked that I can [be so successful] shopping online. I hear friends say it's not something they're able to do because they've had bad experiences — bought something that didn't fit or wasn't the quality they expected. So my recommendation is a simple one: Find a brand or two that really works for you in both fit and quality and stick with that.”
