PICTURING MARYLAND
History on deck
Barbara Haddock Taylor/Baltimore Sun
Dan Bramos, a volunteer with Historic St. Mary’s City, looks over South Broadway from the deck of the Maryland Dove, a 40-ton, two-masted pinnacle ship that is the floating ambassador of Historic St. Mary’s City. It’s a representation of the original Dove, one of two ships (along with the Ark) that began the Maryland colony. Bramos is dressed as a deckhand from 1634. The ship is visiting Fells Point until Thursday. Free tours are available today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
