DODGERS: OF Yasiel Puig will not be punished for his involvement in an incident in a Miami club last fall. Puig sustained a swollen eye and facial bruises Nov. 26. Miami police said at the time the injuries were sustained as Puig was leaving the Blue Martini following an argument with his sister. The league said its “investigation did not uncover any witness who supported the assault allegation.”
WHITE SOX: The reason DH Adam LaRoche announced Tuesday that his decision to leave baseball was because executive vice president Ken Williams asked him to limit the amount of time his teenage son spends in the clubhouse, Williams said. LaRoche's son, Drake, 14, spent much of last season with the Sox and even had his own locker in the home clubhouse at U.S. Cellular Field. Williams said he made the decision because he felt he needed to draw the line somewhere, as players might have similar requests in the future. He said he would have still have made the decision even in light of the results. “Even 50 percent (of the time) is probably too much, but there's a wide range between 0-50 percent, so I was a little surprised by the stance he took, which is unfortunate,” Williams said. “But talk about a quality life decision, a family decision.”
