We asked readers whether they like the Orioles changing the dimensions of Camden Yards’ left field wall again. Here are the results from our online poll, Instagram and X:
Yes — 466 votes (68%)
No — 221 votes (32%)
Here’s what some readers said about the change (answers have been edited for clarity and grammar):
Bringing it in 26 feet in the power alley is too much. 363 feet at the angle is again going to result in cheap home runs, especially with the fence beginning there and angling through left-center is only 6 feet, 11 inches. The fence should be taller and at 380 feet in left-center.

At least this time us taxpayers are not paying for someone’s stupidity.
— Joe
If we can land a man on the moon and return him safely, then how hard would it be to reconstruct right field to make it fairer for the pitchers?
— Donald Huffman
Totally agree with MicKraut about the “angle” in left center. I like nonuniform dimensions, but the announced distance for the “angle” is far too short.
— Laurence Berbert
It is diabolical that we’ll just have a big empty space between the two walls.

Love the splash pad.

What the heck are they going to do with a 14-foot gap between the walls?

I like it fine. Fill the space with something interesting, but classy. Mr. Splash is the best thing to happen to the outfield.

If Elias signed free agents and traded as well as he keeps altering one of the best ballparks in baseball we would have two World Series by now.

Why waste all that space that could be used for seats?? It would be a waste of a home-field advantage. And — hello! — you’re throwing away more revenue for you guys, Orioles owners.
