Dodgers: Tony Gonsolin was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday by the Dodgers because of right elbow discomfort, joining fellow rotation members Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell among 14 Dodgers pitchers on the IL. The NL West-leading Dodgers activated relievers Kirby Yates from the 15-day IL and Michael Kopech from the 60-day IL before Saturday’s game against the Cardinals and designated right-hander Chris Stratton for assignment, one day after he rejoined the team.

Reds: Led by Christian Encarnacion-Strand’s homer in the sixth inning to tie the game before it was suspended Friday night and then his walk-off double in the 10th on Saturday, the Reds beat the Diamondbacks 4-3. ... Gavin Lux hit a grand slam, Christian Encarnacion-Strand homered for the second straight game and the Reds routed the Diamondbacks 13-1 on Saturday after completing the suspended game.

Tigers: Tigers infield prospect Bryce Rainer will have season-ending shoulder surgery after an injury earlier this week. Rainer dislocated his right shoulder diving back into first base while playing for Class-A Lakeland in the Florida State League.

Braves: Craig Kimbrel’s stay with the Braves lasted just one day as the team designated the franchise’s career saves leader for assignment Saturday and recalled left-handed pitcher Austin Cox. Kimbrel pitched a scoreless seventh inning in the Braves’ 5-4 loss in 10 innings on Friday.

Giants: Matt Chapman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Giants beat the Braves 3-2 on Saturday for their fourth straight win.

Cardinals: Nolan Arenado delivered a pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth inning and the Cardinals stifled the Dodgers’ offense for a second straight game in a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Yankees: Anthony Volpe was not in the Yankees’ lineup Saturday against the Red Sox, a day after getting hit in the left elbow by Walker Buehler’s pitch. The durable shortstop missed just his second game of the season.

Blue Jays: George Springer hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning and the Blue Jays beat the Twins 5-4 on Saturday.

Red Sox: Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Alex Bregman felt good after starting a running program at Fenway Park but is still far from returning from a strained right quadriceps.

Rangers: Jacob deGrom allowed two hits in seven shutout innings and Marcus Semien drove in three runs to lead the Rangers to a 5-0 victory over the Nationals on Saturday that snapped a four-game skid.

Pirates: Henry Davis hit a tiebreaking solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Pirates to a 2-1 victory over the Phillies on Saturday after the slumping Phillies placed star first baseman Bryce Harper on the injured list before the game.

Marlins: Jesús Sánchez had a three-run homer and a two-run double, and Heriberto Hernandez singled in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as the Marlins outlasted Christopher Morel and the Rays 11-10 on Saturday to snap a five-game losing streak.

Astros: Jake Meyers scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, Isaac Paredes drove in an insurance run and the Astros defeated the Guardians 5-3 in 10 innings on Saturday. Yainer Diaz had a two-run homer in the sixth as the Astros won for the fifth time in six games.
