



Here’s the weekly roundup of state college lacrosse games.
Division I men
No. 1 Maryland 14, Delaware 3:Zach Whittier had two goals and three assists, Braden Erksa and Matthew Keegan each scored three goals and Eric Spanos chipped in four assists to lead the host Terps (6-0) to a dominant win over the Blue Hens (3-2) on Saturday.
Logan McNaney made 16 saves and Brian Ruppel (Catonsville) stopped six shots in net for Maryland, which held an opponent to three or fewer goals for the first time since an 11-2 win over Villanova on March 14, 2015. The Terps didn’t allow a goal for spans of 24:57 and 20:33 in holding an opponent to single-digit goals for the fifth time this season.
McNaney moved to second on Maryland’s all-time saves list with 664 for his career, passing Brian Dougherty (658 from 1993 to 1996). He’s now chasing Kevin O’Leary’s program record of 705 saves from 1981 to 1984.
The Terps are undefeated through six games for the first time since 2022, when they went 18-0 and won the national championship.
No. 13 Richmond 14, UMBC 8:Xander Maxwell had three goals and an assist, but it wasn’t enough for the Retrievers (2-2) in a loss to the host Spiders (5-2) on Saturday. UMBC took a 4-3 lead in the second quarter before Richmond answered with a 7-1 run to pull away for good.
No. 20 Virginia 11, Towson 6: The visiting Cavaliers (3-3) went on an 8-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to beat the Tigers (1-5) on Saturday. A goal from Mikey Weisshaar (Spalding) gave Towson a 4-3 lead at the end of the second quarter before Virginia surged ahead. Weisshaar and Ronan Fitzpatrick each scored two goals for Towson.
Quinnipiac 21, Mount St. Mary’s 10:Jack Smith recorded three assists and Aidan Kilduff, Kevin Whitty and Will McKay each scored two goals for the host Mountaineers (2-5) in a loss to the Bobcats (1-5) on Saturday in the MAAC opener for both teams.
Providence 12, Loyola Maryland 11: Henry Haberman finished with four goals and an assist and Matthew Minicus added two goals and two assists, but the Greyhounds (0-6) lost their sixth straight game Saturday against the host Friars (4-3). Max Watkinson made 12 saves for Loyola, which pulled within one with 1:01 left in the fourth quarter but couldn’t net the game-tying goal.
Lehigh 13, No. 19 Navy 8: The visiting Hawks (2-4, 1-0 Patriot League) built a six-goal lead in the first half and held off a second-half rally by the Mids (4-2, 1-1) to win Friday night. Navy went on a 4-0 run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 11-7. Dakota Eierman for Lehigh and Jack Ponzio for the Mids finished with five goals each. Lehigh won 23 of 25 faceoffs.

Division I women
No. 9 Maryland 11, No. 12 James Madison 5: Led by three goals from Kori Edmondson (McDonogh) and a lockdown defense, the visiting Terps (4-1) beat the Dukes (4-2) on Saturday to end JMU’s 19-game home winning streak. Devin Livingston (2 goals), Glenelg Country grad Kate Sites (2 goals, 1 assist), C. Milton Wright grad Shelby Sullivan (2 goals), Jordyn Lipkin (1 goal, 1 assist) and Marriotts Ridge grad Maisy Clevenger (1 goal, 1 assist) chipped in on offense and JJ Suriano (Bryn Mawr) made 13 saves in her fifth career start for Maryland.
No. 10 Florida 15, No. 16 Loyola Maryland 9: The host Gators (4-2) started the game on a 6-1 run and never trailed in a victory over the Greyhounds (4-3) on Saturday. Loyola pulled within 8-6 in the third quarter on a goal by Chase Boyle, but Florida responded with a 5-0 run to put the game out of reach. Boyle finished with a game-high six goals.
No. 15 Stony Brook 17, Towson 6: The visiting Tigers (3-3, 0-1 CAA) fell behind 5-1 in the first quarter and couldn’t recover in a loss to the Seawolves (4-2, 1-1) on Saturday. Milana Zizakovic and Katie Roszko (C. Milton Wright) each had a goal and an assist for Towson.
Jacksonville 10, No. 18 Navy 9: Shae Hagans scored with 16 seconds left to lift the host Dolphins (2-4) over the Mids (5-2) on Saturday. Navy took an 8-6 lead late in the third quarter, but Jacksonville rallied to score four of the final five goals to secure the victory. Mikayla Williams led the Mids with three goals and an assist, while Ava Yovino and Emily Messinese each scored twice.
No. 16 Loyola Maryland 14, Georgetown 10: The host Greyhounds went on a 7-0 run that spanned both halves to pull ahead of the Hoyas (3-4) on Wednesday. Chase Boyle scored six goals, Elisa Faklaris added three goals and Georgia Latch set a single-game school record with nine assists for Loyola. Georgetown got three goals from Anne McGovern and Sophia Loschert.
Virginia Tech 9, Mount St. Mary’s 7: The visiting Mountaineers (3-3) trailed 4-0 early and rallied to tie the game, but the Hokies (6-2) scored two goals late to win Wednesday. Mount St. Mary’s was led by Mackenzi Furlong (1 goal, 2 assists) and Logan Cook (Bel Air, 2 goals). Virginia Tech got two goals each from Kate Elam, Kamryn Henson (Glenelg) and Mia Pozzi.
Delaware 16, UMBC 8: Katana Nelson scored four goals, but the host Retrievers (6-1) fell to the Blue Hens (4-2) on Wednesday. Delaware took a 10-4 lead in the first half. Grace Bruce (Century) had a hat trick and Isabella Fontana made a game-high eight saves for UMBC. Jaclyn Marszal (Glenelg Country) scored four goals for the Blue Hens.
