HER STORY: Kate Hannah Cole, 37, was born and raised in Baltimore. She works as an anesthesiologist at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Her father, Hugh Cole Jr., lives in Baltimore. Her mother, Glen Cole, lives in Houston.

HIS STORY: Christopher Chester Stankiewicz, 35, was born and raised in Chicago. He owns a financial management company. His parents, Kenneth and Linda Stankiewicz, live in Chicago.

THEIR STORY: They met on an online dating site on April 7, 2015.

After Kate “winked” at Chris on the site, the two went on a first date at a restaurant in Madison, Wis. Kate lived there while she was completing her residency.

The two hit it off immediately.

“We talked for four hours, shut the place down and have been having the most interesting, fun and fulfilling conversation ever since,” Kate said.

“I thought he was smart, careful, sweet, funny, charming, athletic, interesting, adorable, optimistic, ambitious and principled,” she recalled.

The couple lives in Chicago.

THE PROPOSAL: Chris proposed on July 30, 2016. Kate, fresh from completing her anesthesia board exam that morning, decided to take a bike ride with Chris along the lakefront in Chicago.

The two stopped at an overlook along Lake Michigan where you can see the Chicago skyline. That’s when Chris asked her the big question.

After her shock, she said: “Yes, a thousand times yes.”

She added: “I was thrilled, a bit in shock, elated, crying.”

VENUE: One hundred fifty guests attended the ceremony at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Owings Mills and reception at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Owings Mills.

FLOWERS AND DECOR:Rennie Friedlander of Simply Beautiful Flowers in Baltimore provided the flowers, which were in the colors of pale pastels: pinks, greens, yellows and cream. Pam Aiello of Elizabeth Bailey Weddings planned the wedding.

HER DRESS: Kate wore a custom-made gown — strapless with a sweetheart neckline and champagne-colored satin ribbon around the waist with a chiffon bottom — by Carla Hwang at Vwidon Bridal Boutique in Chicago.

BRIDESMAID’S ATTIRE: The bridesmaids wore blush or rose gold dresses by Adrianna Papell and BHLDN.

MEN’S ATTIRE: Chris wore a custom black tuxedo by Paul Stuart in Chicago. Groomsmen wore tuxedos from Black Tie Formalwear in Chicago.

MUSIC: Nightsong, a band from Washington, D.C., provided the music. The couple’s first dance was to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Andrea Bocelli and “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson.

FOOD AND DESSERT: Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Owings Mills catered the wedding. Dinner consisted of beef tenderloin, asparagus, baked tomatoes, roasted potatoes and salad. The couple also served Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza from Chicago as a late-night snack. Baltimore baker Mary Elliot made the cake, which consisted of strawberries and whipped cream filling with English buttercream frosting.

SPECIAL TOUCHES: The couple plans to honeymoon in Northern Italy this fall.
