Police have identified the 31-year-old woman killed in a shooting Tuesday evening in Baltimore and say they are working closely with the State’s Attorney’s Office on the case.

Patrol officers from the Central District responded to a reported shooting in the 700 block of East Preston Street in the Johnston Square neighborhood around 5:56 p.m., according to a Tuesday news release from the Baltimore Police Department.

The woman found at the scene had a gunshot wound to the upper body, police say. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff.

On Wednesday, police identified the woman as Shy’Keema Turner. Police also said they are reviewing “newly circulated video of the incident and speaking with the involved parties.”
