The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are acquiring three-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Titans, according to reports Wednesday.

The Titans will receive a conditional fifth-round pick and take on some of Hopkins’ salary.

The Chiefs lost receiver Marquise Brown to shoulder surgery prior to the start of the season. Second-year star Rashee Rice sustained a season-ending knee injury last month against the Chargers, and veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster is out after hurting his hamstring in last Sunday’s win over the 49ers.

Hopkins, 32, only has 15 catches for 173 yards and a TD this season. But he’s a proven star — 943 catches for 12,528 yards and 79 TDs over a career spent mostly with the Cardinals and Texans.

Hopkins is also on an expiring contract, a plus for the cash-strapped Chiefs.

The Seahawks reportedly are acquiring Ernest Jones IV from the Titans in exchange for Jerome Baker and a 2025 fourth-round pick in a swap of inside LBs. This is the second time Jones, 24, has been traded this year. The Titans acquired him from the Rams in August. ... Jameis Winston will start at QB on Sunday when the injury-plagued Browns host the Ravens. QBs Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson both suffered injuries in the Browns’ loss to the Bengals last weekend. Watson is done for the season, but Thompson-Robinson will practice this week.

NBA: The NBA likely will begin an investigation later this week into the 76ers surrounding the player participation of All-NBA C Joel Embiid, ESPN reported. Embiid didn’t play in the preseason for what the team called left knee injury management and will miss three games this week.

NHL: The defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers and coach Paul Maurice agreed to a contract extension. Details weren’t available. Maurice, 57, was in the final year of a three-year contract.

WNBA: The Mystics announced that they “mutally agreed to part ways” with GM Mike Thibault and his son, coach Eric Thibault.
