As some win championships, others take step closer to glory

The state field hockey and cross country seasons ended Saturday, crowning new champions — Chesapeake-Anne Arundel field hockey won its first state title — and, in some cases, old ones — River Hill boys cross country claimed its third straight championship.
In boys soccer and girls soccer, the job isn't done yet, with the state finals still to come. And in football, as the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association season nears its end, the state playoffs are only just beginning.
