¦ Rangers: SS Elvis Andrus will miss six to eight weeks after additional tests Thursday confirmed a fracture in his right elbow. Team physician Keith Meister said the fracture will not require surgery. Andrus was hit by a fastball from Angels reliever Keynan Middleton on Wednesday night.
¦ Tigers: RHP Jordan Zimmermann is expected to make his next start after being hit on the jaw by a line drive against the Indians on Wednesday night.
Zimmermann said the swelling in his jaw had gone down and he didn’t have a headache, and he planned on beginning his usual routine between starts. His next scheduled start is Tuesday against the Orioles.
¦ Indians: SS Francisco Lindor hit a leadoff homer and drove in three runs, helping the Indians record their 11th consecutive victory over the Tigers, 9-3.
