Action/Adventure, R. This adaptation of the TV series that aired in the 1970s and ’80s follows the adventures of a pair of California Highway Patrol officers. Baker (Dax Shepard) is a beaten up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together, while Poncherello (Michael Pena) is an undercover Federal agent investigating a multimillion dollar heist.

“Slamma Jamma”

Drama, PG. A former basketball star, who served time after being wrongfully accused of a crime, negotiates life on the outside. A slam-dunk contest with a big jackpot might be the key to achieving a good life for himself and his family.

“The Zookeeper’s Wife”

Drama, PG-13. In Nazi-occupied Poland, the caretakers of the Warsaw Zoo assist Jews who are trying to flee the country. Jessica Chastain stars as a working wife and mother who became a hero to hundreds during World War II.

“The Boss Baby”

Animated, PG. When a new baby arrives, his older brother, Tim, sees him as a demanding, dictatorial influence in the family, until the Boss Baby teams up with Tim to foil the evil plot of the CEO of Puppy Co.

“Ghost in the Shell”

Action/Adventure, PG-13. Scarlett Johansson stars as a cyborg policewoman who’s hunting a dangerous hacker. Michael Pitt and Juliette Binoche co-star. “Ghost in the Shell” is based on a popular Japanese manga series that was adapted into an anime film.

“The Case for Christ”

Drama, PG. Lee Strobel, a journalist who is also a resolute atheist, is dismayed when his wife becomes a Christian. He decides to use his journalistic and legal training to try and disprove the claims of Christianity. Based on Strobel’s best-selling book of the same name.

Comedy, MPAA rating pending. Lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al decide to stop following the rules for the first time in their lives when their pension funds are nixed by a greedy corporation. These three retirees strike back by planning a daring bank heist. Starring a trio of “Grumpy Old Men” for the new millennium: Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin.

“Smurfs: The Lost Village”

Animated, PG. The Smurfs go on a journey through the Forbidden Forest to discover a long-forgotten secret. Voice talent includes Demi Lovato, Joe Manganiello and Rainn Wilson.

“The Fate of the Furious”

Action/Adventure, PG-13. A mysterious woman lures Dom into a world of crime and convinces him to betray his comrades. Charlize Theron plays Cipher, the villain who torments Dom and his crew. The film also stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood.

“SPARK: A Space Tail”

Animated, MPAA rating pending. SPARK (Jace Norman) is a wisecracking space monkey living on an abandoned planet with his friends Chunk and Vix. The trio must rescue Planet Bana before General Zhong can awaken the powers of the deadly space Kraken. Voice talent includes Susan Sarandon, Hilary Swank, Jessica Biel and Patrick Stewart.
