Arizona has apologized after the school says some fans participated in an “unacceptable chant” following the basketball team’s 96-95 loss to BYU on Saturday night.

According to online video, fans can be heard yelling a profane phrase directed at Mormons as the teams were leaving the court. BYU is the flagship school for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“Following tonight’s men’s basketball game, it was brought to our attention that an unacceptable chant occurred,” athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois said in a statement Sunday.

“On behalf of the University of Arizona Athletic Department, we apologize to BYU, their student-athletes, coaches and fans.”

Kadary Richmond and Zuby Ejiofor scored 18 points apiece as No. 10 St. John’s routed UConn 89-75 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday to complete its first regular-season sweep of the Huskies in 25 years.

Golf: Angel Yin shot a bogey-free final-round 7-under 65 to hold off Akie Iwai of Japan by a stroke at the LPGA Thailand. It was the second career victory of the 26-year-old Californian, who entered the final round with a five-shot lead. Iwai, a rookie playing on a sponsor exemption, shot 61 in the final round.

NBA: Stephen Curry scored 30 points, and the Warriors beat the visiting Mavericks 126-102. The Warriors have won five of six and improved to 5-1 since trading for Jimmy Butler, who had eight points in his home debut.

NHL: Bruins D Hampus Lindholm likely will miss the rest of the season as he works his way back from knee surgery. Lindholm, 31, will have another surgery next week.

Soccer: Lynn Biyendolo scored 42 seconds into the match and the U.S. beat Australia 2-1 in the SheBelieves Cup. Michelle Cooper scored her first goal in the 68th minute for the U.S., which improved to 2-0 in the four-team round-robin tournament.
