Caroline Wannen broke out for four goals and three assists as the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team beat No. 2 Florida, 14-4, on Saturday.

The Terps improved to 6-0, and the host Gators fell to 9-1.

“This was a huge win for us today, to come down here and play down here — this is a tough place to play and Florida's a really good team,” Maryland coach Cathy Reese said. “We knew we had our hands full coming into the game. First half we struggled quite a bit and we just needed to kind of settle in. Our offense just needed to do a better job in the second half, and thankfully they did that.”

Wannen's four goals are a career high while her three assists tie her personal best. Zoe Stukenberg (Marriotts Ridge), Megan Whittle (McDonogh), Kacie Longo (South River) and freshman Jen Giles (Mount Hebron) each scored twice against the Gators while senior midfielder Taylor Cummings (McDonogh) and freshman midfielder Caroline Steele (Severn) each scored once.

Loyola Maryland 8, Navy 2: Goalkeeper Molly Wolf (Bryn Mawr) recorded her 17th career double-digit save performance, stopping 10 shots to lead the Greyhounds (4-4, 2-0 Patriot League) past the visiting Mids (5-3, 0-1).

The win marked the 100th career victory for coach Jen Adams.

 Maddy Lesher helped anchor the defense, finishing the game with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

 Margaret Filippelli led Loyola with her first career hat trick, netting three goals, while she added one assist for a career-high four points. Maddy Blakeman also scored four points (two goals, two assists), while freshman Hannah Powers and redshirt freshman Sabrina Tabasso contributed one goal and one assist each. Frankie Kamely rounded out the scoring with one goal.

 For Navy, Julia Collins (River Hill) and Gabbi Labuskes scored one goal each.

No. 17 Penn 7, No. 15 Towson 4: The Quakers (6-1) used a 6-0 run in the second half to beat the host Tigers (6-2).

Samantha Brookhart (Mount Hebron) had a goal and an assist for Towson.

No. 19 Johns Hopkins 10, Georgetown 4: Caroline Federico (Maryvale) had a career-best 14 saves to anchor the defense as the Blue Jays beat the host Hoyas (2-6).

Winthrop 7, UMBC 6: The Retrievers' Sam Nolan (Fallston) tied the game at 5 with 13:25 left to play, but the visiting Eagles (9-2) scored two of the next three goals over the final 10:24 to win.

Nolan finished with a game-high four goals for UMBC (5-3).

Christopher Newport 11, St.?Mary's 5: Tori Poffenberger had five goals, but the Seahawks (7-1, 0-1 Capital Athletic Conference) fell to the host Captains (7-1, 2-0).

St. Mary's trailed 5-2 at the half and never caught up.

Salisbury 18, Southern Virginia 0: Tough defense by the host Sea Gulls (7-1, 2-0 CAC) limited the scoring opportunities for the Knights (5-4, 1-1).

Goalie Chelsea Weinstein (Franklin) got her first win.

No. 15 Boston College 13, No. 3 Syracuse 8: Sarah Mannelly scored four goals and the host Eagles (6-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) used a 7-3 run in the second half to topple the Orange (7-3, 1-1).

Boston College junior captain Tess Chandler broke a 5-5 tie with an unassisted goal with 3:01 remaining in the first half. The Eagles never trailed.

No. 10 Stony Brook 8, Delaware 7: Courtney Murphy had five goals and set a school scoring record as the host Seawolves (4-3) beat the Blue Hens (8-2).

Murphy has 160 career goals in 48 games. The previous record was 158 in two seasons set in 2012-13 by Demmianne Cook.

No. 5 Notre Dame 16, No. 12 Virginia 4: The host Fighting Irish (9-1, 3-1 ACC) used a balanced attack in scoring eight goals per half to beat the Cavaliers (4-5, 0-3).

No. 14 Duke 7, Villanova 4: The Blue Devils' Kelsey Duryea made four saves and Claire Scarrone and Isabelle Montagne held the Wildcats' top scorer, Jackie Froccaro, to one goal.

Duke improved to 7-4; host Villanova fell to 1-8.

No. 18 Ohio State 10, Canisius 4: Kelsey Gallagher scored three goals to lead the host Buckeyes (7-1) past the Golden Griffins (2-4).
