After making 31 saves and picking up a 6-3 road win over the Sharks on Saturday, Jake Allen will remain the Blues starting goalie for Game 5 on Monday in St. Louis.

“Yeah, Jake is going to play tomorrow,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said Sunday. “I am comfortable with either guy, but I woke up this morning and talked to the coaches again and decided to go with Jake.”

Allen hadn't made a start this postseason before Game 4, and in fact, hadn't started since April 3 in Colorado. He had appeared twice in the playoffs, both times in relief of Brian Elliott. But after Elliott three goals in both Game 2 and 3 and it was obvious the team was in need of a jolt, Allen got his shot.

“I've been sort of letting (Elliott) do his thing the first three series,” Allen said. “Hitch told me to go get him. It's my chance now. Just tried to make the most of it last night.”

The playoff win for Allen was his first since a 6-1 win over the Wild in Game 4 of last year's first round. Allen went on to drop both games of that series, as the Blues fell to the Wild. This time around, he says he has a different view of what's expected.

“For me, playing in the playoffs last year, and being able to watch three rounds this year, it changed my whole mindset around being a goaltender in the playoffs,” Allen said. “I think I came in last year a little bit antsy. I wanted to do too much and wanted to help the team win so bad that, unfortunately, we lost in the first round.

“I think this year we just realize it's honestly another hockey game. Yeah, it's a little bit more meaningful in the postseason. But it's another hockey game. Be yourself. Play your game. What we've done all year will bring success.”

Meanwhile Sunday, there was no update on the status of injured forwards David Backes, Robby Fabbri or Scottie Upshall.

“I'll let you guys know on all of our health (Monday),” Hitchcock said.

Fleury in net: Marc-Andre Fleury is back on the job for the Penguins.

The veteran goalie made his first start of the postseason Sunday in Game 5 against the Lightning in Pittsburgh.

Fleury, who had been the team's top goalie before he suffered his second concussion of the season March 31, came on in relief of rookie Matt Murray during Game 4 on Friday and stopped all seven shots he faced in a 4-3 loss that evened the series.

Daley done: The Penguins announced before Sunday's game that defenseman Trevor Daley would miss the rest of the postseason after suffering a broken ankle during Game 4.

Daley, acquired from the Blackhawks in December, had one goal and five assists in the playoffs.
