President Donald Trump will speak at the Naval Academy commissioning ceremony next month in Annapolis, city officials said Wednesday.

City officials said they have been notified by the White House of the president’s visit for the May 25 ceremony, and will work with the Secret Service to provide security.

It will be Trump’s first commencement address at the academy.

Vice President Mike Pence gave the address last year.

Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama both addressed the graduating midshipmen in their first years in office. The Naval Academy is the closest service academy to Washington.

Trump spoke last year to graduating cadets at the Coast Guard Academy.

The ceremony at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is to begin with a fly-over by the Blue Angels.

The graduation caps the academy’s annual Commissioning Week events.

Trump spoke of the Navy after signing the omnibus spending bill last month. The legislation included $23.8 billion to procure 34 new ships for the service.

“Our Navy is at about the lowest point in terms of ships that it’s been in over 100 years,” he said.

“We’re adding a significant number of extremely advanced vessels.”

Trump announced three appointments to the academy’s Board of Visitors in February.

They included Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, his physician. Trump has also nominated Jackson to lead the Department of Veteran Affairs.

City officials said that they had not yet confirmed details of the president’s visit, such as which roads will be closed.

Annapolis police Cpl. Amy Miguez said that such details will be released closer to the commencement date.
