Nicole Kidman gave a long-awaited dedication to her late mother Friday at the Palm Springs Film Festival.

“I feel my momma right now. This is for you, Momma,” Kidman said onstage in tears. The Australian actor and producer’s mother died last year shortly after Kidman arrived at the Venice Film Festival to promote “Babygirl.”

“I didn’t get to do it at the Venice Film Festival,” she said. “Thank you for giving me the chance to say this is for my mom. My whole career has been for my mom and dad.”

Jamie Lee Curtis presented the International Star Award to Kidman during the 36th annual International Film Awards at the festival in Palm Springs, California.

Kidman was among notable A-listers that included Adrien Brody, Zoe Saldaña, Isabella Rossellini and Angelina Jolie, who was presented the Desert Palm Achievement Award-Actress by actor Jacqueline Bisset.

Jolie portrays opera singer Maria Callas in the biopic “Maria.”

“I’m all right today because when I walk off of this stage, I am more myself because of you, Zahara, and your brothers and sisters,” the Oscar winner said to her daughter while reflecting on Callas’ difficult life.

The night was full of onstage reflection as recipients and presenters gave long, heartfelt speeches at the nontelevised event. Intermixed with the sentiment, stars also took the time to poke fun at themselves and their peers.

Jennifer Coolidge presented the Rising Star Award to Ariana Grande, noting that the “Wicked” actor and pop star was already a household name.

“Hasn’t Ariana already risen?” Coolidge said.

Colman Domingo was presented the Spotlight Award, while Timothée Chalamet received the Chairman Award.

Denis Villeneuve was honored with the Visionary Award, and Adrien Brody received the Desert Palm Achievement Award- Actor. Mikey Madison received the Breakthrough Award-Actress, and Kieran Culkin the Breakthrough Award-Actor.

The ensemble cast from “Conclave” took home the Ensemble Performance Award. “Emilia Pérez” earned the event’s Vanguard Award.

‘Mufasa,’ ‘Sonic 3’ rule box office: The Walt Disney Co.’s “Mufasa” claimed the No. 1 spot on the North American box-office charts over the first weekend of 2025. The photorealistic prequel to “The Lion King” earned $23.8 million in its third weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Paramount’s “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” stayed close with an estimated $21.2 million, bringing its total domestic earnings to $187.5 million and helping the overall franchise cross $1 billion worldwide. “Mufasa’s” running total is $169.2 million.

In third place, Focus Features’ “Nosferatu” claimed $13.2 million, bringing its running total to $69.4 million.
