MIKE PRESTON'S KEY MATCHUPS
Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants' unpredictable wide receiver who has 27 catches for 359 yards this season, will pose a challenge to Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith. ( Matt Ludtke/Associated Press)
Giants LT Ereck Flowers vs Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs: Flowers is big at 6 feet 6 and 329?pounds, but not athletic. He is slow and has had trouble handling speed rushers all year. At this point in his career, Suggs is a better run stopper than pass rusher, but he should be able to run around Flowers. If Suggs has success early, he will have a big game. He loves to put on a show. Edge: Ravens.
Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. vs. Ravens CB Jimmy Smith: Few people can predict how Beckham will act on the field. Personality aside, he is one of the best in the game even though he has only 27 catches for 359 yards this season. He'll give Smith problems, but be assured that the Ravens cornerback won't back down. It will be interesting to see how much Smith plays Beckham in press coverage.
Edge: Giants.
Giants QB Eli Manning vs. Ravens S Eric Weddle: The last two teams that have beaten the Giants, the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, played two-deep coverage and had success against Manning. The Ravens will probably try to do the same because the NFL is a copycat league. Weddle is good at hiding coverages and moves around often during the game. Manning has to identify him in presnap reads. Edge: Even.
