Jairus Lyles scored seven 3-pointers for 34 points and host UMBC defeated Maine, 86-74, Saturday and closed out the RAC Arena on a high note, winning 11 straight at home.
The Retrievers (15-8, 6-2 America East) shot nearly 60 percent in the second half as they went into halftime trailing by a point but had built a 22-point lead midway through the second half, 69-47.
Maine's Isaiah White (Harford CC) scored a career-high 22 points with seven rebounds to lead the Black Bears (5-18, 2-6).
Loyola Maryland 79, Army West Point 68: Andre Walker scored 20 points and a go-ahead layup late and the host Greyhounds (7-14, 5-5 Patriot League) overcame a slow start to beat the Black Knights (12-9, 9-5).
Navy 77, Lehigh 75: Shawn Anderson finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to help the Mids (14-9, 5-5 Patriot League) hold off the host Mountain Hawks (9-13, 3-7).
Mount St. Mary’s 86, St. Francis (N.Y.) 72: Junior Robinson had a game-high 27 points to lead the visiting Mount (11-11, 5-4 Northeast Conference) past the Terriers (9-13, 4-5).
Coppin State 73, South Carolina State 65: The host Eagles (3-19, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) outscored the Bulldogs (7-15, 3-4), 49-27, in the second half to win.
Elon 83, Towson 76: Brian Dawkins and Dmitri Thompson scored 20 points apiece to power the visiting Phoenix (13-10, 5-5 Colonial Athletic Association) past the Tigers (15-8, 5-5).
Howard 85, UMES 75: RJ Cole scored 28 points, Charles Williams scored 19 and the visiting Bison (6-17, 3-4 MEAC) outscored the Hawks (5-18, 1-7) 20-10 down the stretch to win.
Women
Mount St. Mary’s 79, Wagner 56: Juliette Lewis scored a career-high 21 points to lead the host Mount (7-13, 4-5 Northeast Conference) past the Seawolves (3-17, 1-8).
Navy 53, Lehigh 50: Taylor Dunham scored 17 points to lead the host Mids (17-4, 7-3 PL) past the Mountain Hawks (12-9, 6-4). Navy took second place in the league standings with the win.
