Starting Friday, admission prices will drop at the Maryland Zoo and continue through the end of February.
General admission prices will drop from $33 to $24 and the zoo will limit the days it is open to Fridays through Mondays.
The lower admission reflects reduced visitor and animal activity during the coldest months of the year, zoo officials said. Animals such as prairie dogs, African penguins, Amur leopards, cheetahs, lions, and otters will most likely be visible in the colder weather at the zoo.
Zoo officials say the admission price includes unlimited rides on its popular train and carousel.
The zoo will return to its normal pricing on March 1. For more information, visit www.MarylandZoo.org.
