Books galore

Anaya Evans, program manager for Our Kids Read (OKR) speaks with Messiah Smith, 3, of Edgewood, about books he might like during the grand opening of the country’s first free diverse children’s bookstore at Eastpoint Mall on Saturday. The nonprofit, with support from Scholastic, the Baltimore Community Foundation and the Petrucci Family Foundation, provides free books for underserved school-aged children from Fridays through Sundays to increase literacy, access and the love of reading.
