NO. 2 DENVER (5-0) AT NO. 1 NOTRE DAME (4-0)

Sunday, 5:30 p.m.

Outlook: The Fighting Irish have a 14-5 advantage in this series, but the Pioneers have won the past three meetings, including an 11-10 overtime decision in last year's NCAA tournament semifinal. In an example of unstoppable force meeting immovable object, Denver's No. 4 offense (averaging 14.2 goals per game) will try to decipher Notre Dame's No. 1 defense (giving up just 5.5 goals per game). Watch for the matchup between Pioneers attackman Connor Cannizzaro and Fighting Irish defenseman Matt Landis.

NO. 1 MARYLAND (4-0) AT NO. 3 SYRACUSE (6-1)

Saturday, noon

Outlook: The Terps vs. the Orange has become one of the hottest rivalries in women's college lacrosse, even though Maryland has won 18 of their 19 meetings, including five in the past two years. The Terps won the 2014 national final and last year's national semifinal over Syracuse. Four of those five games were decided by two or three goals. Both team are high scoring and dominant on the draw, but the Orange has struggled a bit on defense in its past three games, giving up an average of 10.3 goals to those top 10 teams. This could mark the last meeting between Maryland's two-time Tewaaraton Award winner Taylor Cummings (10 goals, five assists, 16 draw controls) and Syracuse's two-time finalist Kayla Treanor (18 goals, 12 assists, 72 draw controls).
