While Alexandra Deutsch, 46, concedes she’s always loved fashion, her job as the Maryland Historical Society’s director of collections and interpretations has created a personal passion.

“I really only started wearing vintage around 2010. I was invited to a ‘Mad Men’ party and I really wanted to go as Betty Draper,” she said. “I went to Hampden and the owners of Luna Blue Vintage helped me create an almost exact replica of the outfit Betty Draper had worn in the first season. Through them, I thought, ‘Wow, there are people who wear vintage almost every day.’ I realized, too, that I actually loved these vintage clothes more because they were made better and they were unique.”

There’s also the issue of her closet — or closets — in her Bolton Hill home, of which her husband only gets one.

“Right now, I’m up to four closets and up to 20 Rubbermaid bins of clothing. I actually married a man who honestly doesn’t care. He never complains. It’s awesome,” she said with a laugh.

HER ENSEMBLE: 1960s Jon Mandl dress — “he’s really known for these incredible brocades, very simple, tailored dresses. They have different themes; this is a Persian warrior theme” and orange satin strappy heels encrusted with fuchsia and aurora borealis rhinestones — both from ReDeux. Rhinestone drop earrings that had been her mom’s, probably from the 1950s.

COMPLETING THE LOOK: “I particularly like ’60s makeup, so I did a modified Megan on ‘Mad Men.’?”
