Modified for COVID-19, Restaurant Weeks kick off July 13
The biannual Howard County Restaurant Weeks & Craft Beverages event kicks off Monday, with delivery and curbside pickup options available for the first time.
Around the county, more than 20 restaurants and businesses are offering specialty menu items and beverages, as well as bundled meal packages, from July 13 through July 26.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, participating restaurants are giving customers the choice of curbside pickup, delivery or the traditional dine-in experience. According to Gov.
Larry Hogan, outdoor dining is allowed at restaurants across the state with social distancing and strict public health requirements in place. Indoor dining is allowed at 50% capacity following the same health guidelines.
All businesses participating in Howard County Restaurant Weeks are required to follow U.S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, as well as state and local COVID-19 precautions and restrictions.

“We encourage people to get out and support the restaurants that mean so much to our communities.”
Lost Ark Distilling Company in Columbia, which participated in Howard County Restaurant Weeks for the first time earlier this year, is providing its homemade hand and surface sanitizing spray to participating restaurants.
As restrictions are evolving in the county and state, customers should contact businesses about their current procedures because of the pandemic, including wearing a face covering and following social distancing rules.
“Visit Howard County is proud to be the first destination in Maryland to announce the return of a restaurant week program,”
Amanda Hof, executive director for Visit Howard County, said in a statement. “Despite challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, restaurants are still in demand and a much-welcomed amenity for residents and visitors alike.”
The next state restaurant week is Baltimore Restaurant Week, scheduled for July 24 to Aug. 2, while Baltimore County Restaurant Week is tentatively planned for August, according to the Visit Maryland website.
“Our restaurants have been significantly impacted during this pandemic, and this is an ideal opportunity for us to give back and support our favorite or new local spots,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said in a statement.
“… Together, we can support a strong and prosperous business community while remaining safe and healthy.”
