Cardinals: Lance Lynn pitched seven shutout innings, Kolten Wong homered and the Cardinals stopped a three-game losing streak, beating the Pirates 2-1 in St. Louis. The Cardinals (4-9) still have the worst record in the National League. The Pirates had won three in a row.
Mets: Closer Jeurys Familia pitched an inning for Double-A Binghamton (N.Y.) as he prepares to return from a 15-game suspension under MLB’s domestic violence policy. Familia worked a 1-2-3 sixth inning against Portland in his first appearance this season, throwing six of his nine pitches for strikes. He is eligible to join the Mets on Thursday.
Yankees: Jordan Montgomery took a shutout into the seventh inning for his first MLB win, Matt Holliday homered in his return to the lineup and the Yankees romped to their eighth consecutive victory by beating the White Sox 7-4 in Yankee Stadium.
Dodgers: LHP Rich Hill was placed on the 10-day DL for the second time this month with recurring finger blisters. He was replaced on the roster by IF Rob Segedin, who was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Hill left his second start of the season Sunday after three innings. He also left his first start early because of the blisters and spent 10 days on the DL.
Astros: SS Carlos Correa was out of the starting lineup against the Angels, two days after he was removed from a game with a bruised right hand after being hit by a pitch by Frankie Montas of the Athletics. Alex Bregman started in place of Correa.
A’s: RHP Kendall Graveman was placed on the 10-day DL with a strained right shoulder. Graveman started opening day in place of the injured Sonny Gray and began the season 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA in his first three starts.
Rangers: Closer Sam Dyson was placed on the 10-day DL with a bruised right hand. RHP Keone Kela was recalled from Triple-A to take Dyson’s place on the roster.
