The U.S. Marshals Service has joined the search for a Baltimore man wanted for a murder that took place last year outside a North Baltimore gas station.
Terrance Edwards Jennings, 36, is wanted on five criminal charges: first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and reckless endangerment. Investigators say Jennings fatally stabbed a man on Nov. 6 outside the Exxon Gas Station at 2500 North Howard St. in the Remington community.
According to the statement of charges, witnesses told investigators Jennings and the victim had arrived at the gas station in a car with at least three other people. Jennings and the victim began arguing inside the car, and the exchange continued when they arrived at the gas station and got out of the vehicle, the charges state.
It’s unclear what the argument was about, but witnesses told investigators Jennings then stabbed the victim and fled on foot. The victim was lying unresponsive on the ground with a stab wound to his chest by the time officers arrived at the scene, police reported.
The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators said witnesses were able to help identify Jennings, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. But six months later, Jennings remains at large.
According to online court records, Jennings was found guilty of attempted second-degree murder in 2012 and sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by three years of supervised probation. The following year, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the same incident for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.
In 2008, Jennings was convicted on a felony drug charge, and later a probation violation, records also show.
“It’s imperative we locate Mr. Jennings so he can answer to these charges,” said Al Maresca, Deputy Marshal with the U.S. Marshals Service. “He’s accused of yet another violent crime. It is in the interest of public safety that we locate Jennings and take him into custody.”
Anyone with information concerning Jennings’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Marshals Service at 202-819-5058.
