HER STORY: Olivia Stringer, 32, was born in Atlanta. She is a professional polo player and operates a farm in South Carolina with her husband. Her parents, Edward and Vivian Stringer, live in Hunt Valley.

HIS STORY: Nathan Stephen Berube, 27, is from Northwood, N.H. He is a professional polo player and operates a farm with his wife. He is also the manager of the Maryland Polo Club. His parents, Stephen and Suzanne Berube, live in Northwood.

THEIR STORY: The two met at polo camp in Texas as teenagers. They reconnected in January 2015 in Aiken, S.C., at a mutual friend’s horse farm.

“I thought he looked good on a horse,” Olivia recalled.

Soon after that — about a week — they were dating. Three months later, the two were a couple.

They live in Aiken.

THE PROPOSAL: The two got engaged in 2016 during Preakness weekend at Wit & Wisdom.

Nathan proposed toward the end of dinner. He got down on one knee in the middle of the restaurant.

“I was pretty excited and happy,” Olivia said. “I was surprised. And we were very happy.”

VENUE: Two hundred eighteen guests attended the wedding and reception at the Verdant Valley Farm in Monkton. Drew VanLandingham from VanLandingham Design Studio was the event planner.

FLOWERS AND DECOR: The colors of the wedding were white, green and blue, which are a mix of the couple’s polo colors. Floral arrangements were provided by Sheila Smith Floral Designs in Bel Air.

HER DRESS: Olivia wore a satin and lace gown by Anne Barge from Francesca’s Bridal.

BRIDESMAIDS’ ATTIRE:Bridesmaids wore dove gray dresses by Sorella Vita from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal Collection.

MEN’S ATTIRE: Nathan wore a navy tuxedo from Tuxedo House. Groomsmen wore the same.

MUSIC: The Love Revival provided the music. The couple’s first dance was to “Tougher than the Rest” by Bruce Springsteen.

FOOD AND DESSERT: The Manor Tavern catered the wedding. Appetizers included a full raw bar, chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits and tasco ham biscuits. Dinner consisted of watermelon and dragonfruit feta salad, seared snapper over black forbidden rice cake, filet and crab cake with lyonnaise potatoes. A lemon cake with buttercream frosting from Sugarbakers Cakes was also served. The couple had his and hers signature cocktails: mint julep for Nathan and a lavender gin buzz for Olivia.

FAVORS: The couple handed out polo-themed Christmas ornaments.

SPECIAL TOUCHES:Olivia and Nathan are planning to honeymoon in Napa and Sonoma in California this fall.
