Birthday celebration

Abigail Treich, 6, of Elkridge, center left under a purple balloon, reaches up with other partygoers at the B&O Railroad Museum to grab one of 407 prize-filled balloons released during the celebration of the 198th birthday of the B&O Railroad. Visitors made birthday cards and enjoyed cupcakes and drinks in the historic roundhouse. The charter for the establishment of the B&O Railroad was signed on Feb. 28, 1827.
