


A Baltimore man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman on Mother’s Day in Edmondson Village.
Detectives and U.S. Marshals arrested the 22-year-old suspect on May 22 in the 3000 block of Elizabeth Avenue. He was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, conspiracy and various firearm offenses, according to Baltimore Police.
The homicide occurred in the 4100 block of Mountwood Road, where police officers from the Southwest District were investigating gunshots on May 11.
Police discovered a woman, later identified as Taniya Gray, inside a vehicle and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Gray was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead.
The suspect, identified as a “repeat offender,” is being held without bail. Police did not disclose a motive for the shooting.
