Maryland’s December COVID-19 surge
An average of approximately 18 people died from coronavirus every day for much of December, according to the Maryland Department of Health. Until Tuesday, virus fatalities were among the metrics yet to be restored on the state’s COVID-19 data dashboard after a cyberattack prompted the health department to take some of its servers offline Dec. 4. The state began updating some data last week but there are still some measures outstanding.
