A loss to the Lakers on Friday night in Los Angeles was surprising enough, but even more shocking to the Warriors was what Stephen Curry couldn't do.

For the first time since Nov. 11, 2014, the two-time defending NBA MVP did not have a 3-pointer in a regular-season game. Curry went 0-for-10 from behind the arc, ending a league-record 157-game streak with at least one 3.

“That was a cool little ride,” Curry said. “(I) would have loved to finish my career making one every game, but hey, (I'll) start a new one. What was it, like two years? Kind of weird not to make one, but I will keep shooting.”

Including the postseason, Curry had hit a 3 in 196 consecutive games. His 116 straight road games with a 3 also was an NBA record.

The Mavericks, 0-5 for the first time in team history, will be without Dirk Nowitzki, who sat out the second half of Friday's loss to the Trail Blazers with a sore right Achilles and is expected to miss at least a week. “It's just uncomfortable and sore,” Nowitzki said. “I'm already not moving great at 38, so to be out there moving on one leg is not helping the team.” Associated Press
