Predators place goalie Rinne on IR
The Predators placed goaltender Pekka Rinne on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury Saturday.
The veteran Rinne had 15 saves on 18 shots before leaving Friday night’s 5-3 victory over the Flames with just under 15 minutes left in the third period.
Rinne has a 3-1-0 record, a 2.10 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in five games. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalie last season.
The Lightning scored three goals on an NHL record 33 second-period shots and finished with a team-record 55 shots in a 6-3 victory over the Blackhawks in Chicago.
