Dunbar turned up the defense in a 59-48 win over Fairmont Heights for the Class 1A boys basketball state championship in a game played at Maryland’s Xfinity Center. The sixth-ranked Poets won their record 16th state championship. Catonsville’s girls team wasn’t as fortunate in the Class 4A state championship, losing to Eleanor Roosevelt, 60-56, at Towson’s SECU Arena.
