Documentary, unrated. A look at the Daytona 500 race in 2001, during which Dale Earnhardt Sr. helped his friend Michael Waltrip win for the first time ever before an accident took Earnhardt’s life.

“Edie”

Drama, not yet rated. An 83-year-old woman (Sheila Hancock) in Scotland decides she still has the wherewithal to climb a mountain. Unbeknownst to her family and friends, she sets off on an adventure.

“It Chapter Two”

Horror, R. Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) the clown returns to terrorize the now grown-up Losers Club. Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Sophia Lillis (“Sharp Objects”) and Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) star.

“Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice”

Documentary, unrated. A look at the long and successful career of singer Linda Ronstadt, including interviews with Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Cameron Crowe and Bonnie Raitt.

“The Goldfinch”

Drama, R. After his mother dies in a bomb attack at a museum, a boy is raised by a wealthy New York couple. Nicole Kidman, Sarah Paulson, Ansel Elgort and Jeffrey Wright star in the adaptation of the best-selling book by Donna Tartt.

“Hustlers”

Drama, R. Strip club employees resolve to make money off of their Wall Street clients. Starring Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, KeKe Palmer, Julia Stiles and Lizzo star.

“Monos”

Thriller, R. A group of kids in the mountains and jungles of Colombia hold a person hostage. Partly inspired by “Lord of the Flies.”

Sept. 20

“Ad Astra”

Drama, PG-13. Brad Pitt stars as an astronaut on a mission to help save the planet and find his father (Tommy Lee Jones), who may be responsible for the predicament. Donald Sutherland and Liv Tyler also star.

“Downton Abbey”

Drama, PG. Tea time! The PBS hit show gets the big screen treatment: Royalty is coming to the abbey, and the whole family must prepare. Starring Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Allen Leech, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and Matthew Goode.

“Rambo: Last Blood”

Action/thiller, not yet rated. Thirty-seven years after the first movie about the grizzled military vet (Sylvester Stallone) debuted, he’s back to confront his past and carry out one more mission.
