Avs' Johnson sidelined by broken leg
Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson will miss six to eight weeks with a broken leg suffered during Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Stars.
Johnson was injured in the second period after blocking Tyler Seguin's shot. He has one goal and is tied for the team lead in assists with 10.
The Blackhawks recalled goaltender Lars Johansson from Rockford of the American Hockey League to back up Scott Darling, who moved into the starter's role in place of Corey Crawford. Crawford underwent an emergency appendectomy Saturday and is expected to be out two to three weeks. ...
