Pollo Campero, a chicken restaurant chain started in Guatemala in 1971, is coming to the Annapolis Mall. The menu includes fried and grilled chicken as well as salads, empanadas, and bowls.

Falcon Construction is preparing the location for the restaurant and work was just over 60% complete as of Monday, according to a social media post from the company. According to filings at the Anne Arundel Office of Planning and Zoning, the restaurant will be located at 901 Bestgate Road, formerly an M&T Bank branch. The 4,000-square-foot space is across from The Container Store and Crate & Barrel.

According to Pollo Campero’s website, the location will be its ninth in the state. A representative for the company did not respond to requests for comment.
