Baltimore Police arrested a 15-year-old boy who they claim fled from them in a stolen Jeep and rammed two police vehicles Tuesday night.

The Jeep he was driving was linked to an armed robbery in Southwest Baltimore, according to authorities.

The police pursuit ended in the 5900 block of Pulaski Highway, police said.

A police department flyer shows that officers had been looking for the Jeep Grand Cherokee since it was involved in an armed robbery in the 1200 block of Hollins Street on June 29.

The flyer warned officers that the Jeep’s occupants should be considered armed and dangerous and listed the vehicle tag information.

That was the license plate on the damaged stolen Jeep that police hauled away from the 5900 block of Pulaski Highway.

The driver of the Jeep had been trying to flee from police and damaged the Jeep, according to a police source.

Officers had been tracking the Jeep as it traveled through Northeast Baltimore earlier in the day. By that point, investigators had learned that the license plates on the vehicle were believed to be stolen from another Jeep, according to a police source.

Police said in a release Tuesday night that the license plate reader system in the Frankford neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore had notified officers that the Jeep was traveling in the area.

Officers established a perimeter and waited for the vehicle to emerge. Police said that once the teenager behind the wheel realized that the officers were trying to detain him, he “accelerated his vehicle, striking two police vehicles,” and sped off.

A police report detailing the June 29 incident describes how a man had been walking to work when a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows slowly approached him.

The Jeep pulled up next to him and stopped. That’s when an armed man donning a mask and a dark tracksuit got out of the vehicle, pointed a gun at him, and demanded that he hand over his watch and wallet.

The man complied with the demands of the armed person who then returned to the Jeep and left the area.

The wallet contained the man’s bank card, EBT card, appointment cards, and $21. Altogether, his watch and wallet were worth around $900, according to the police report.

City cameras helped investigators track the movements of the vehicle prior to the robbery.

Police said the 15-year-old boy who was arrested on Pulaski Highway “was taken to juvenile booking for processing,” according to authorities.
