A Glen Burnie man died after he was struck by two vehicles on Crain Highway on Aug. 29. Only one of the two vehicles stopped and remained at the scene, according to a Sunday news release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of southbound Crain Highway after 53-year-old Artur Calero Tavor left a nearby business and began to cross the highway.

Tavor, who police said was not on a crosswalk, was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 23-year-old man, according to the release.

Surveillance footage shows that he was also struck by a dark-colored SUV, the release says.

Immediately after the collision, the driver of the Malibu stopped and remained at the scene, but the SUV did not, police said.

Upon arrival, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Tavor dead at the scene, according to the release.

The police department’s Traffic Safety Section is handling the investigation. Anyone with information related to the crash is urged to call 410-222-8573.
