Baltimore County Public Library is kicking off Pride Month celebrations with a headliner performance by drag artist Plasma on Tuesday.

Plasma, who competed on season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, rose to fame with music videos such as “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” inspired by the 1968 film “Funny Girl,” starring Barbra Streisand. She also created and hosted the live-singing cabaret show “All That Plazz” alongside the Benjamin Young Quintet.

Plasma’s performance will take place at the Owings Mills branch from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by a Q&A session with attendees.

Other Pride Month events include story times designed to educate children about LGBTQIA+ experiences in an inclusive, age-appropriate setting. Additional programming features film screenings and discussions with LGBTQIA+ authors like Thien-Kim Lam and Naomi Rivers.

On Tuesday, visitors can also participate in a DIY Pride Tumblers craft session at the Towson branch from 2 to 3:30 p.m., creating snow-globe-style tumblers with Pride-themed glitter.
