Those who know Stacey Dyce, 41, know how colorful she is. Literally. The Maryland Department of Health training coordinator said she loves wearing lots of color and patterns.

“I like color combinations that don’t generally go together. That when you look at them, you say, ahh, they do go together… I love patterns; actually, Ankara fabrics — African [wax] prints. I wear a lot of accessories in Ankara, scarves and clothing items,” she said.

In fact, Dyce said when she couldn’t find the kind of jewelry that would go with many of the Ankara pieces she had, she started making her own jewelry. She said she sells her Sybarite Soul accessory line at trade shows, farmers markets and events, and is working on developing her own e-commerce shop.

“Sybarite means someone who is enamored with the pleasures of the senses. I play a lot around with color and texture, temperature; things you can see, feel and touch. I like to use all-natural products. Like leather and Ankara fabrics and gemstones,” Dyce explained.

The GBUL Guild member was able to use a pair of earrings from her line to pair with the gown she wore to the “Black and White Ball,” even though she had to tame down her usual multi-hued look to follow the party’s color scheme.

“I was little benign. But, luckily, I was sparkling,” she said.
