Tarasenko ignites Blues' 3-0-0 start
Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and an assist, Carter Hutton stopped 33 shots and the Blues beat the Rangers 3-2 on Saturday night to become the NHL's first 3-0-0 team.
The Blues also started 3-0-0 in 1969-70, 1993-94 and 2013-14.
Tarasenko has three goals in three games for the Blues after scoring 40 last season.
Hutton got his first win in his debut with the Blues after signing as a free agent to back up Jake Allen.
The Rangers, who outshot the Blues 35-18, got goals from Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad. Paul Statsny and Alex Pietrangelo had the Blues' other goals.
Joe Colborne's hat trick led the Avalanche to a 6-5 victory over the Stars in Jared Bednar's debut as an NHL head coach. Colborne's first two goals came on the power play. ...
