SoftbalL: Poly’s softball team capped a perfect season against Baltimore City competition with the Division I championship Tuesday.

The Engineers (11-0) overwhelmed opponents all season and defeated Edmondson, 30-3, for the title at Johns Hopkins.

Coach Carla Barrera said Poly has won about 10 city titles during her 14 years and this has been their most dominant seasons.

Sophomore pitcher Corinne Charney picked up the win Tuesday. Barrera also pointed to the contributions of senior catcher Emma Bosley, senior second baseman Haley Iannatuonno and senior left fielder Kayla Tellington as keys to the Engineers’ success.
