Sizka, a Japanese restaurant known for omakase sushi service, will close this week after 5 years on O’Donnell Square.
The Canton restaurant announced on Facebook that Wednesday will be its final day in business.
“For the past 5 years in Canton we were happy to serve our patrons quality sushi,” the post said, but did not elaborate on the reasons behind the closure. Owner Jung Kim was not immediately available for comment Monday.
The 50-seat space opened in 2019 at 1030 S. Linwood Avenue, in an old fire station that used to be home to Firehouse Coffee Co.
The restaurant serves sushi and sashimi imported from around the world as well as Japanese entrees like yakisoba, a stir-fried noodle dish, and tonkatsu, a panko-breaded fried pork loin. Sizka’s omakase experience presented diners with a 10- or 15-course sushi tasting hand-picked by the chef.
