Quinta Brunson teased fans on Instagram last week with a post that read “Season 4 of Abbott Elementary gets real sunny,” accompanied by a photo of Brunson looking like she should be on the cover of a hip-hop album with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” stars Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day. The actors are the epitome of cool in front of a copy of a Philadelphia mural.
It’s clear: a crossover episode between the two Philly-centered sitcoms is in the works.
McElhenney posted the same picture with just two words: “Oh. Hello.”
If that wasn’t hint enough, he added a photo of “Sunny’s” Danny DeVito and “Abbott” co-stars Tyler James Williams and William Stanford Davis to his Instagram stories.
Earlier this year when asked point blank if a crossover between the two shows was in the works, Brunson didn’t deny it.
“Deals are made,” she said. “Deals are made. I want you guys to know that. I’ll say I’m really excited for it. You want to find fun ways to shake things up without abandoning what you what you built. And I’m excited for this crossover of which I will not name with the other project.”
Glover cancels remaining tour dates: Donald Glover has canceled the remaining dates of Childish Gambino’s North American and European tour.
The musician, actor and “Atlanta” creator announced Friday that he recently discovered an ailment that required surgery. After his New Orleans show Sept. 7, he sought tests at a hospital and canceled a Houston show the following night. In a note on X, he did not elaborate on his condition.
“My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously,” Glover wrote, adding that he needed “time out to heal.”
“The New World Tour” is Childish Gambino’s first tour since 2019. The run began Aug. 11 and was to hit many major North American cities before moving to Europe, the U.K., New Zealand and Australia into early 2025.
‘Joker’ sequel stumbles at box office: “Joker: Folie à Deux” is the No. 1 movie at the box office, but it might not be destined for a happy ending.
In a turn of events that only Arthur Fleck would find funny, the follow-up to Todd Phillips’ 2019 origin story about the Batman villain opened in theaters nationwide to a muted $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday, less than half that of its predecessor. The collapse was swift and has many in the industry wondering: How did the highly anticipated sequel to an Oscar-winning, billion-dollar film with the same creative team go wrong?
Just three weeks ago, tracking services pegged the movie for a $70 million debut. Reviews were mixed out of the Venice film festival, where it premiered like the first movie and even got a 12-minute standing ovation.
