Paying for parking in downtown Baltimore should be easier with the introduction of new mobile payment options, city officials say.

The Parking Authority of Baltimore City, alongside Mayor Brandon Scott, announced that residents and visitors can now use three mobile apps — Flowbird, PayByPhone and ParkMobile — to pay for metered parking on city-owned lots and on-street spaces. A text-to-pay option is also available.

“Once you have an account, you can skip going to the meter altogether,” said Peter Little, executive director of the Parking Authority, in a statement. “When you park, you just open the app, enter the location/zone number, and choose how long you need to park. It will even send you an alert before your parking session expires and give you the option to add more time, if allowed.”

Users can download the apps from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Parkers can securely store information such as their vehicle’s license plate number and credit card details to streamline payments.

For those preferring not to use an app, the Pay-by-Text option is available by texting ParkBMore to 727563, with automated replies guiding users through the transaction.

Traditional payment methods remain available, including credit cards and coins at meters, with tap-to-pay options at most single-space meters.

The Parking Authority’s initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize parking solutions, improve parking turnover, and ensure the availability of parking spaces.
