The Bills’ patchwork group of receivers is getting a boost, with the team acquiring Amari Cooper in a trade with the Browns, both teams announced on Tuesday.

The Bills gave up a third-round pick in the 2025 as part of the trade that also included a swap of late-round picks.

Cooper, a 30-year-old five-time Pro Bowler, has 24 catches for 250 yards and two TDs this season. He’s in the final year of his contract.

The deal came hours after the Jets upgraded their offense by acquiring six-time Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Raiders.

The 31-year-old Adams reunites with QB Aaron Rodgers after more than two years of separation. The duo were teammates with the Packers for eight seasons.

Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a TDs in three games this season after finishing 2023 with 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight scores.

The Jets sent the Raiders a conditional third-round pick in next year’s draft that could become a second-rounder.

The Vikings have acquired RB Cam Akers in a trade for the second straight year. They agreed to send a late draft pick to the Texans for more depth at the position. Akers, 25, who has 40 carries for 147 yards and a TD in five games this season, was acquired by the Vikings in a trade with the Rams last year. He played in six games before suffering a season-ending Achilles tear. ... The Super Bowl will return to Atlanta for a fourth time in 2028.

Baseball: The Phillies signed manager Rob Thomson, 61, to a one-year contract extension through the 2026 season.

Soccer: Thomas Tuchel is set to become England’s new men’s coach, ESPN reported. The 51-year-old former Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea manager replaces Gareth Southgate, who stepped down this summer after eight years.
