One person died in a three-vehicle collision Tuesday morning in Baltimore County, just three days after another crash in the county killed three others.

On Tuesday, troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded to the area of southbound Interstate 95 at Interstate 695 for a report of a three-vehicle crash shortly before 3:30 a.m. A Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound when, for unknown reasons, it struck the rear of a dump truck, police said.

The impact of that crash caused the Jeep to become stationary in a travel lane. Police believe the driver exited the vehicle and was subsequently struck by a Subaru, which then also struck the dump truck.

The driver of the Jeep, whose identification is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 50-year-old driver and a 51-year-old male passenger in the dump truck were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The 24-year-old female driver of the Subaru was also taken to an area hospital. Police have not provided an update on their conditions.

On Saturday, two 9-year-old girls and a 36-year-old man were killed in a crash just off the Baltimore Beltway after a trooper attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled, the trooper did not pursue the vehicle, and it crashed shortly after, killing all three occupants.

The 9-year-old victims were identified as Bailee Brooks and Serenity Gross, who were students at Lutherville Lab. The driver has not been identified.
