The Annapolis Police Department is investigating two unrelated weekend sexual assaults.

Police responded to the 1000 block of Newtowne Drive on Feb. 15 following a report of an attempted rape involving two juveniles, according to a news release. A juvenile suspect was arrested, according to the release. It is unclear if charges have been filed since juvenile records are generally confidential.

A day later, police responded to Complete Care at Annapolis, a skilled nursing facility on Van Buren Street at around 11:00 a.m. after a female patient reported that a male nurse sexually assaulted her. This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made, according to Kortlan Jackson, spokesperson for the Annapolis Police Department.

The employee has been put on administrative leave until an internal review is conducted, according to Michael Willis, administrator of Complete Care at Annapolis.

“The center takes all allegations seriously and we reported this matter to all appropriate authorities per regulation,” Willis said in a statement. “We are conducting an internal review. Our policy conforms to all local and state laws. The employee is on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the review, which we anticipate will conclude in the next 72 hours.”
